This page provides you with important information relating to your personal data among other things. How we handle your data is explained below.
1. Personal data
Data that you send us by e-mail or through contact, order or booking enquiries is treated in the strictest confidence. That also applies to the data of persons subscribing to our newsletter by-email. Apart from the information obtained from newsletter subscriptions, the data is not used for advertising purposes. The data is only transferred for the purposes of the internal processing of your enquiry. The personal data stored by us is deleted if you withdraw your consent to such storage, if the knowledge of that data is no longer necessary for achieving the purpose for which the data was originally stored, if storage of the data is or ceases to be permissible on other legal grounds, or if the purpose of storing the data (quotation requests, order processing, goods deliveries) is no longer satisfied; however, it is important to be aware of the existence of statutory retention periods in this connection (e.g. in respect of accounting or tax records or with regard to prudent business management). The data collected by us (address details, bank details, credit card details, contact details, invoice details and details of goods/services supplied) for the various purposes (contacts, enquiries) is only shared with the data processor, payment services provider, insurer or other service provider directly related with the processing of your enquiry. As a fundamental principle, we only store the personal data that is necessary for the conduct of the business relationship.
2. Your right to be informed
You have the right at any time to be informed about what personal data we hold about you, where it was obtained from and for what purpose it is held. If you wish to obtain such information, please contact the data protection officer responsible:
3. Data security
We use an encryption process to ensure that data transfer is secure. The method used for transferring your data is known as SSL (Secure Socket Layer – the standard protocol specification for secure Internet communication). This protects the information transferred against interception by unauthorised persons. The data stored on our systems is protected against unauthorised access
5. Usage data
Every time a user accesses a page and every time a file is retrieved, data about the operation is recorded in a log file. That data is recorded exclusively for internal, system-related statistical and security purposes. It is not normally possible to establish a direct personal link in that process. The following information in particular is recorded: Name of the file retrieved, date and time of retrieval, host name of the accessing computer or network (IP address), volume of data transferred, indication of whether retrieval was successful, description of type of web browser used, requesting domain. That data is not shared with third parties. The data is not merged with other data sources. For marketing purposes, information such as browsing time, origin and interaction with the website is sent to servers in the USA (see Section 8 GOOGLE ANALYTICS) and analysed there. The user’s location is only roughly indicated because, for statutory data protection reasons, only a shortened version of the IP address is shared so as to rule out the possibility of a direct personal link. Users may exercise their right to deny the use of their data by installing the browser add-on for deactivation of Google analytics (download link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de ).
Our newsletter provides you with regular updates on news, special offers or other interesting products and events. If you have subscribed to our newsletter, your e-mail address is only used by us and within the parameters of order data processing by the company employed to send out the newsletter. Nor can your data be purchased by third parties, whether businesses, private individuals or official bodies. To protect us against the misuse of mass subscriptions, your IP address is also stored. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking on the link provided for the purpose in the newsletter.
7. Legal obligations
The personal data about you that we hold is always looked after in accordance with the applicable statutory provisions of the Federal Republic of Germany.
8. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses what are known as “cookies”, small text files that are saved on your computer and enable analysis of the use of the website by you. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address in anonymised form, i.e. shortened so it cannot be linked to an individual person) is sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use that information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports about website activity for the website operators and to provide other services associated with website use and Internet use. Google may also share that information with third parties where legally required or where third parties process the information on behalf of Google. Google will not under any circumstances link your IP address to any other data held by Google. You can prevent the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate setting in your web browser; however, you should be aware that in that case you may not be able to make use of the full functionality of the website. By using this website you are giving your consent to the processing of the data collected about you by Google in the manner described above and for the purposes specified above. Should you not wish to allow such use, you may exercise your right of refusal by installing the browser add-on for deactivation of Google Analytics. (Download-Link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de )
As an alternative to installing the browser add-on or when using a web browser on a mobile device, please click/tap this link to prevent data collection by Google Analytics on this website in future (the opt-out will only function in this particular browser and domain). This places an opt-out cookie on your device. If you later delete cookies in this browser, you will have to click/tap the link again.
